The changing landscape of technology In higher education Further to our previous staff meeting and recent staff meeting it appears that there were some concerns regarding digital learning and teaching. The notion that ‘chalk and talk’ represents the only tried and true way of teaching and that technology is but a passing fad – and its introduction results in undue pressure on staff to change - require an objective response. Rather than discuss the intricacies and higher-level technical detail of Virtual Reality (VR) – my area of expertise – it seemed more relevant and useful to discuss with my colleague the broader contextual view of the affordances of technology in teaching.
